Application Process

Step 1

Download the Word version of the application and draft your responses to paste into the online application form.

Step 2

Secure a letter of support from your school principal or district administrator, download the template below.

Step 3

Once the Cohort 2 application opens in October, you can submit your application materials through the online application form.

Eligibility

Requirements:

  • Current middle school (grades 6-8) science teacher in Texas  

  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience 

  • Teach at least 50% time in the classroom 

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident  

  • Willingness to participate for four years  

  • Administrator support for participation 

  • Ability to attend an in-person professional learning summer institute each year, likely in mid-late July

Deadline

Application Deadline:

  • Cohort 1 Application outcomes will be shared in early June, 2026. 

  • Applications for cohort 1 have officially closed. Applications will reopen in October 2026 for cohort 2 (K-5 teachers).
